A man in his 80s sustained life-threatening injuries in a crash, police have said.
Officers were called to Market Jew Street in Penzance, Cornwall, at about 18:45 GMT on Sunday after receiving reports of an incident involving a black Ford Focus and a pedestrian at the junction with Albert Street.
Devon and Cornwall Police said the pedestrian was taken to hospital and the driver is assisting officers with their investigation.
Anyone with information of dash-cam footage of the incident has been asked to contact the force.
