Canadian pop legend Alanis Morissette has been confirmed as the latest headliner for a music event being staged in Devon in 2026.
Morissette is the final headline artist announced for TK Maxx presents Live At Powderham in Exeter and is due to play on Friday 26 June. The event is organised by Live Nation promoters Cuffe and Taylor.
Morissette featured at the Glastonbury Festival earlier this year, and returns to south-west England, alongside fellow festival stalwarts, Lewis Capaldi and Teddy Swims.
Live Nation promoter Oli Mason said: “We are talking about a bona fide rock star. She was selling out stadiums when there wasn’t any social media and the internet was a new thing.”
The Canadian star has sold more than 60 million records worldwide, and is arguably best known the 1995 album Jagged Little Pill.
Mr Mason said that song “for anyone in their 40s, will have been listened to, on repeat, throughout their youth”.
The album sold three million copies in the UK alone and contained songs such as You Oughta Know, Hand In My Pocket and Ironic.
It is expected that up to 130,000 music fans will come to Devon for the festival weekend.
Mr Mason, who lives locally, said the financial boost to the local economy would run to millions of pounds.
He said more than half of the festival goers would come from outside of the South West, and he hoped “hotels, bars and restaurants will be full of music lovers” and it would give a much-needed boost to the struggling hospitality and entertainment sector.
