Cleverley added: “He’s proven at this level. He’s at a great age to help our younger players as well.
“What he’s brought to the team has been huge. His aerial ability, his set-piece delivery, his crossing and his creativity has been excellent.
“He’s got off the mark now – [he was] really proactive following in the rebound, which is something we spoke about pre-match, and he’s not a bad kid off the pitch.
“He’s a lively one, but the lads have really warmed to him and I’m sure the fans will as well.”
Curtis has now started as many league matches for Argyle as he did in the entirety of the first half of the season at Port Vale, who he helped to win promotion to League One last season.
After the match, he recounted his first goal for Plymouth and said he was happy to be enjoying his football again.
“We do analysis on the opposition,” he told BBC Radio Devon. “We noticed that the keeper parries a lot. So just right place, right time, and I just got my toe on it.
“Most of my career has been in League One – I know the league inside and out.
“Last season was great. I didn’t play as much as I’d like to with Port Vale this season, don’t know what that was down to.
“It was a no-brainer for me coming here, and since I’ve come in, it’s been amazing and everyone has really let me settle in.”
