Premiership Women’s Rugby: Gloucester-Hartpury extend winning run with Chiefs thrashing

Gloucester-Hartpury returned to the top of the Premiership Women’s Rugby table with an emphatic 38-20 win over Exeter Chiefs.

The defending champions extended their winning run to 11 games with a six-try bonus-point victory at Kingsholm Stadium.

Gloucester-Hartpury took an early lead when flanker Georgia Brock powered over from a line-out but Exeter responded through Sabrina Poulin’s try.

Two tries from player of the match Maud Muir and one from Kelsey Jones put Dan Murphy’s side in control before Linde van der Velden’s try cut the deficit to 26-10 at half-time.

Winger Mia Venner sped over for Gloucester-Hartpury’s fifth try and Welsh flanker Beth Lewis added the sixth.

Exeter Chiefs replacements Eilidh Sinclair and Claudia Moloney-MacDonald both went over as the third-placed visitors finished strongly to earn a try bonus point.
