Torquay United lose 3-0 at Ebbsfleet united as Neil Warnock awaits first win

“I thought the effort was super, it wasn’t the effort at all. We haven’t got a lot of choice, we’ve got one or two knocks as well in the team, but I can’t fault the effort, just not good enough today.”

Dominic Samuel gave the hosts a 31st-minute lead before Kwesi Appiah doubled the advantage 13 minutes into the second half.

Matt Worthington was given a straight red card 10 minutes later after a challenge on Jake Hessenthaler before Marcus Wylie made the game safe nine minutes from full time.

“You look at the goals, they were bad goals, weren’t they?” added Warnock.

“The first goal, dearie me, and I thought if we could get in at 1-0 again I thought we could do well the second half – I was just going to make the substitution and they scored the second.

“So I was disappointed not to have a 15-20 minute go with the change that we were going to make.”
