BBC Radio Cornwall presenters set off on three-legged challenge

BBC radio presenters have begun their part of a 1,000 mile three-legged challenge for Children in Need (CIN).

BBC Radio Cornwall’s James Churchfield and James Dundon are each hoping to complete 12.5 miles (20.12km) over two days.

Both presenters will be in different parts of Cornwall on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Mr Churchfield began his walk at Land’s End at 08:00 GMT and Mr Dundon began his walk at Bude canal tow path at 10:00.

They will be walking each mile tethered to a different person, including volunteers and staff from CIN-funded projects.

These will include Wild Young Parents, CLEAR, Ignite You, Young People Cornwall and Penzance Youth CIC.

After completing the first mile in Bude, Mr Dundon said they had walked through heavy rain and were “soaked through”.

He said he was delighted to complete the first mile and was ready to “crack on.”
