‘Convincing’ Torquay United secure 3-1 victory at Farnborough

Boss Paul Wotton has praised his Torquay United side after their 3-1 win at Farnborough in National League South.

The victory was just a second away win of the season for the Gulls, who move up to sixth place in the table.

Louis Dennis gave the Gulls the perfect start as he put them 2-0 up inside the first 15 minutes.

The forward fired in from close range in the second minute before being in the right place at the right time for a similar goal nine minutes later.

But his evening was cut short when he was forced off with a hamstring problem soon after.

Jordan Dyer made it 3-0 17 minutes from full time before Rakish Bingham converted a penalty for the hosts three minutes later.

“I thought we were convincing,” Torquay boss Wotton told BBC Radio Devon.

“We could have scored four, five, six goals tonight quite easily. We limited Farnborough to nothing until we give away a silly penalty

“I thought we saw the game out professionally and I’m pleased with the boys, they’ve worked hard again.”
