Cornish Pirates coach Joe Walsh feels the Champ side are capable of beating any team in the league.
The Pirates are currently fourth in the table, having lost their past two games, against title-chasing Worcester and Bedford – the latter by one point on Saturday.
Having started the season with three winless games, Pirates won their next five to move up the table and have taken 10 bonus points from their 10 matches.
“We’re in 10 rounds of the Champ now and we felt that nine games we either did win or should have won,” Walsh told BBC Radio Cornwall.
“So to be in that sort of a position, playing the likes of Bedford and Worcester in that block, shows us that we’re in a good position.
“It is unfortunate that we couldn’t have taken more league points from those games.
“But to feel at this part of the season that we’re capable of taking anyone in the league on and being very close to winning the majority of our games, and winning games with bonus points, is a good reflection on the players and the coaching staff.”
Pirates are currently in the middle of a tough run of fixtures.
Having gone to Worcester and hosted Bedford, they travel to mid-table Chinnor before hosting runaway leaders Ealing on 27 December and then travelling to Coventry five days later on New Year’s Day.
“There’s no getting away from the fact that the next three games you’ve got, Chinnor away, which is always a tough prospect, you’ve got unbeaten Ealing and you’ve got Coventry away on a five-day turnaround,” added Walsh.
“There’s nothing that’s going to come easy for us in the end of this block and it’s just hoping that we can produce as many league points as we can from that to finish strong after the halfway point.”
