Beavers are continuing to enjoy valentines day as they spread the love in Studland in a rare sight, captured by the National Trust’s trail cam.
The footage delighted staff, showing the pair settling well into their new habitat after their March 2025 release — and hopefully preparing to raise kits – baby beavers – soon.
Beavers, hunted to extinction in Britain around 400 years ago, are a native species. Restoring them is a key part of the National Trust’s work to revive nature and rebuild lost ecosystems, which beavers are top builders on.
This latest sighting offers real hope that these ecosystem engineers will continue shaping the landscape for years to come.
