A busy stretch of motorway is to close overnight this week.
The M5 northbound will be closed between junction 27 at Tiverton and junction 25 at Taunton from 21:00 GMT tonight until 06:00 GMT and then again every night until Friday.
The southbound carriageway will be fully closed overnight on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
“We’re aware it’s carnival night [on Saturday] so we have updated that to just lane closures until midnight to allow traffic to disperse,” said Jonathan Hill from the National Highways.
“For the next four nights we have full closures northbound to allow us to install the narrow lanes which will run for the length of this scheme,” Mr Hill added.
The work includes replacing gullies, blocked pipework, desilting ditches and some survey work.
The project is part of a £5.9m investment by National Highways at Junction 26 which should help tackle flooding issues.
It will continue until February and the full list of closure times is available from National Highways.
