Comedian Michael McIntyre surprised locals on Saturday night by casually walking into their pub.
Customers having a drink at The Antelope in Wareham, Dorset were shocked to see the famous comic.
Videos posted on social media showed people being drawn to the 49-year-old, who was wearing a sandwich board reading: “The Wheel tonight 8:20pm BBC One.”
Producers told landlord Dave Lye the team for the show would be visiting the premises, but he said he was not expecting the comedian to make an appearance.
Mr Lye said: “I found out when he walked through the door, yeah, it was bit of a shock.
“They said it was going to be a couple of jokes or whatever to see who actually watched the show.
“When he walked in we thought ‘oh my God, why couldn’t we have advertised it?’
“We were told not to say anything to anyone you see.”
Cameras followed Mr McIntyre into the pub as he engaged with customers and handed out leaflets.
Mr Lye said one thing that stuck out to him was “he was a lot shorter than I thought”.
“He did not stay very long, he was there for two minutes, he did his thing and then went out, it was that quick,” he said.
Mr Lye said that when he left, the customers followed him for a selfie.
“He also wished someone Happy Birthday but the crew wanted to move him on as quickly as they could,” he added.
