Police are carrying out house-to-house enquiries following the sudden death of an elderly woman.
Dorset Police officers were called to an address in Higher Blandford Road in Poole on Monday at 16:52 GMT where a cordon still remains.
The death of the woman, who was in her 80s, is being treated as unexplained. Her next of kin have been informed.
Police said there would be an increased police presence in the area, and that enquiries were being carried out “to establish the full circumstances of the death”.
A police statement said: “There will be an increased police presence in the area while officers carry out further house-to-house and CCTV enquiries to establish the woman’s last movements.
“We would encourage anyone with information or concerns to please speak with an officer.”
