Tom Cleverley: Plymouth Argyle boss ‘in the best place’ to turn results around

Tom Cleverley feels he is the right boss to get Plymouth Argyle out of their slump following the 3-0 home loss to Northampton Town.

The defeat was Argyle’s seventh in their last eight games as the Pilgrims remain second-from-bottom of League One.

The Plymouth head coach saw his side concede three second-half goals and top-scorer Lorent Tolaj sent off for violent conduct.

“I thought some of the football was pretty, first half, but I think the way we’re going to win short term is like last week, where we must focus on keeping it zero at one end and it might be a little bit scruffy,” the Argyle head coach said.

“January comes and we’ll get some reinforcements and hopefully some confidence through better results than today, and then we can be a little bit more pretty on the eye.

“But yes, absolutely I feel like I’m in the best place to do that.

“I know exactly where it is going wrong, putting that right is going to take a lot of work and obviously everyone pulling in the right direction.”
