Truro City assistant manager Stewart Yetton says his side’s late 2-1 loss at Eastleigh was “heartbreaking”.
The Tinners conceded in the fourth minute of stoppage time to suffer a fourth successive league defeat that leaves them 11 points from safety at the bottom of the National League.
Truro have conceded decisive goals in the final five minutes of three of those four losses.
“To concede so late, in the manner we have as well, it’s heart-breaking for the lads and the fans as well,” Yetton told BBC Radio Cornwall.
“We certainly didn’t certainly didn’t deserve to lose. But like we keep coming out after games, tight games, and losing and conceding late.
“We said to the lads ‘you’ve got to you’ve got to learn from your mistakes and start putting it right’.
“It’s just frustrating, we’ve got to be better in key moments.”
Truro have struggled late-on in games from the start of the season – their opening day 2-0 home loss to York City saw them hold out until the 83rd minute.
City have dropped as many as 12 points deep in matches this season and could eventually prove crucial if they are to drop back into National League South after their first season in the fifth tier.
“Last season we obviously were very good in those the end of games moments,” added Yetton.
“That was probably the key differentiator last season in that we were we were able to kick on win and games.
“Where we’ve stepped up the level now it seems to have gone a little bit the other way and we seem to be the ones that can’t hold on or we make mistakes.
“A lot of those games have been our own doing, so it’s incredibly disappointing and we need to be better in those moments.”
