Thousands of people headed out to see the streets of a seaside town light up for an annual carnival.
A procession of illuminated carts and costumed performers filled the streets of Weston-super-Mare for the return of the carnival on Friday night.
The event, which dates back to 1871, is one of the well-known Somerset Guy Fawkes carnivals. The Bridgwater and Highbridge and Burnham-on-Sea carnivals have already taken place.
Dick Berry, the chair of Weston-super-Mare Carnival, said it was “a night to remember”.
